• Fingerpicking

• Phrasing

• Learning and memorizing licks from the masters

• Improvising 

• Memorizing tunes

• Choosing finger picks (for banjo) and thumb picks

• Playing with metronome

• Analysis of major, minor, blues, pentatonic scales and creative use of them

• Harp like effect

• Build your repertoire

• (If you want to!) practicing with vocal parts harmonies
